1. Basic Requirements on Visa Application. 1) All applicants should provide the following basic documents: A. The original passport with at least six-month validity and two blank visa pages, one photocopy of the passport page containing the personal particulars. B. Truly completed and signedVisa Application Form of the People's Republic of China.(Click here to download) . One recent passport-photo size color photograph of the applicant. NOTICE: Those applying to work or study in China or applying for a visa in a country or territory other than the country of their nationality are also required to fill out the Supplementary Visa Application Form(Form V2011B).(Click here to download). 2) Special Notes: A. Visa application could be delivered to the Consular Section of the Embassy either by the applicant or the entrusted travel agencies. Visa application by mail is not accepted. B. If necessary, the applicant may be required to take an interview. C. Usually, it takes four working days to issue the visa. If the visa is needed earlier, additional urgent fee will be charged. D. To provide false information, use fake documents, or fail to fill the visa application form truly and completely may result in the refusal of the visa. 2. Application Requirements on Different Visa Categories. 1) "L" Category Visa (Tourism/Visiting Relatives) A. Invitation letter (if visit for the first time). If the applicant cannot provide an invitation letter, please provide a visa recommendation letter from the applicant's employing company, organization, etc. B. Proof of relationship, photocopy of the identity document and residence permit of the relative in China. C. Other additional documents required according to the merits of each applicant, e.g. bank statements, round-trip air tickets booking, etc. 2) "F" Category Visa (Business) A. Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit issued by the authorized government departments/companies/units in China, or formal Invitation Letter issued by renowned and creditable companies/units in China. B. Visa recommendation letter from the applicant's employing company, organization, etc. C. Other additional documents required according to the merits of each applicant, e.g. bank statements, round-trip air tickets booking, etc. 3) "X" Category Visa (Study) A. Admittance letter of the school/college/university and one photocopy. B. Foreign Student Visa Application Form (JW201 or JW202) and one photocopy. C. Physical Examination Form (Health Certificate) and one photocopy. Attention: The holder of X visa is kindly reminded to go through the procedures for obtaining the residence permit for aliens at the local public security bureau within 30 days after entry to avoid illegal stay. 4) "Z" Category Visa (Work/Employment) A. The original Visa Notification Form issued by the authorized government departments in China. B. Alien Employment License of the People's Republic of China issued by the labor authorities and one photocopy. For chief representatives and representatives of the foreign country/region company representative offices in China, please provide the representative office registration certificate or approval certificate issued by the relevant authorities and one photocopy. For foreign experts, please provide Foreign Expert Confirmation Letter issued by the Foreign Expert Bureau of China and one photocopy. C. Physical Examination Form (Health Certificate) and one photocopy. Attention: The holder of Z visa is kindly reminded to go through the procedures for obtaining the residence permit for aliens at the local public security bureau within 30 days after entry to avoid illegal stay. 5) "G" Category Visa (Transit) A. Valid visa of the destination country/region and its photocopy. B. Air tickets and its photocopy. 6) "J" Category Visa (Journalist) Please contact the Political and News Section of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal. Tel: 00977-1-4416485 Fax:00977-1-4414045 7) Diplomatic/ Official Visa A. Note for visa application from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Nepal. Notes for visa application from the diplomatic and consular missions in Nepal and official letters from the offices of the international organizations in Nepal. B. According to the visa free agreement between Nepal and China, Nepalese Diplomatic/Official passport holders can visit and stay in China without visa for 30 days. Attention: Nepalese Diplomatic/Official passport holders should apply for Hong Kong visa if they will transit/visit the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. To Visit the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. 1) Visit for tourism. Please apply to the Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB) through travel agencies for travel permit, and then apply for Group Visa to enter Tibet with the Notification of Visa Application issued by TTB. Tourists with Diplomatic/Official passports should contact the Political and News Section of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal. Tel: 00977-1-4416485. Fax:00977-1-4414045. 2) Visit for business/scientific/technological activities. Please provide the Visa Notification Form issued by the authorized government departments of Tibet Autonomous Region. 3) Visit for mountain climbing. Please provide the Visa Notification Form issued by the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China and apply for Group Visa. 4) Visit for pilgrimage. Please provide the Visa Notification Form issued by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Tibet Autonomous Region and apply for Group Visa. 4. Special Tourism. Applicants who want to travel around China by self-prepared vehicles or by other special means should contact an international travel agency in China and provide application documents such as list of travelers, travel program (including the ports and dates of entry and exit, travel itinerary, main places to visit, etc) and the means of transportation. After approved, please apply for visa with the Notification of Visa Application issued by the tourism authorities in China. |
