H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan Attends an Interaction Program between Chinese and Nepali Writers

On 26 March, 2012, H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal was invited to an interaction program between Chinese Writers' Association and Nepali Art & Literature Dot Com Foundation. Mr. He Jianming, Vice Chairman of Chinese Writers' Association, who was leading a Chinese writer's delegation visiting Nepal, discussed exchanges in literature between China and Nepal with Nepali writers.

   

 Dr. Bimal Koirala, Chief Patron of Nepali Art & Literature Dot Com Foundation said that Nepal and China are good neighbors, and maintain good relations in politics, economic, culture and other areas. The two countries have large potential in develop the exchanges and cooperation in literature. We should strengthen the exchanges and promote the mutual development.

 

   

Mr. He Jianming said that as soon as he set foot on Nepal's soil, he felt the warm hospitality from Nepali people and writers. China and Nepal are good neighbors. The Mountain Everest links the two countries, a piece of Hada links two peoples, and an oil lamp links the hearts of the writers of the two countries, making us feel very close. Chinese Writers' Association wishes to establish regular exchange and visit mechanism with Nepali writers, and expects to publish more Nepali writers' works of literature in China.

Yang said that he was very pleased to meet the writers from the two countries. Both China and Nepal are countries with old civilizations. The culture exchanges between us has a long history and is the base of friendship and cooperation. Literature is an important part of culture. During Chinese Premier Wen's official visit in Nepal this January, the two countries announced 2010 as China-Nepal Friendly Exchange Year. He hoped that the two countries will make full use of this opportunity, to strengthen the exchanges and visits in the literature and art, and make more contributions to further enhance the understanding between the two peoples and enrich our culture.
