Execution Contract of Kathmandu to Khasa Optical Fiber Cable Laying & SDH Project Aided by the People's Republic of China Signed

On September 23, 2007,the Execution Contract of Kathmandu to Khasa Optical Fiber Cabe Laying & SDH Project Aided by the People's Republic of China is signed by Mr. Zhang Huashan, Vice President of China International Telecommunication Construction Corporation (CITCC), and Mr. Shakti Man Singh, Deputy Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, at Hotel Yek & Yeti. The Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Zheng Xianglin, and H.E. Mr. Sankar Koirala, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communication of Nepal also witnessed the ceremony.

The project, which will cost 25.4 million RMB according to the contract, will be implemented by CITCC and completed in 9 months. The optical fiber cable, with a total length of 115 kilometers, will be mainly laid along the Arniko Highway.
