The 7th China Festival is Inaugurated at Kathmandu

On December 19, the 7th China Festival and the 2nd Kathmandu Cultural Forum were inaugurated in Kathmandu, Nepal.

H.E. Mr. Liu Qibao, Member of Political Bureau and Secretariat of CPC Central Committee and Chief of CPC Publicity Department and Hon. Mr. Krishna Bahadur Mahara , Deputy Prime Minister and Financial Minister of Nepal attended the Opening Ceremony and lighted up the panas (lamp standing for luck) together.

The 7th China Festival mainly consisted of the 2nd Kathmandu Cultural Forum and four sessions of artistic shows performed by Jiangsu Provincial Art Troupe. The excellent artists from Jiangsu Province performed the splendid programs with the characteristics of art from the areas of South of Yangtze River, through which they expressed the sincere greetings and best wishes to the peoples of Nepal and South Asian countries.

This event was co-organized by Ministry of Culture of China, Embassy of China in Nepal and Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal. Ambassador Yu Hong, Mr. Liu Yuzhu, Director of State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Mr. Indra Bahadur Baniya, State Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal and the representatives of South Asian countries and envoys in Nepal were present.
