Nepal Red Cross Society and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal co-organized the handover ceremony of relief goods donated by the Government of Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China to Nepal at the headquarters of NRCS on September 13, 2007. On the occasion of the ceremony, DCM Madam Xi Hui, representing the Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, hands over the item list of relief materials to Mr. Sanjeep Thapa, president of NRCS. Madam Xi and Mr. Thapa both made a short speech.

Nepali people are suffering from flood, landslide and many kinds of diseases because of excessive rainfall. As good neighbor and friend of Nepal, Chinese Government donated 200,000RMB (or 1.74million Rupees) to Nepal in August. To express the sympathy and support of Tibetan people, the Government of Tibet Autonomous Region donates relief materials equivalent to 300,000RMB (or 2.61million Rupees) including tents, blankets, water-proof mattress and instant noodles, which are necessary for the disaster victims.
