Liu Yandong Holds Talks with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen

On November 25, local time, Chinese Vice Premier of the State Council Liu Yandong held talks with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen in Addis Ababa.

Liu Yandong said that since the establishment of the comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Ethiopia, positive results have been achieved in the bilateral relations, forming a new pattern of all-around and multi-level cooperation. To further consolidate and develop the comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Ethiopia serves well the fundamental and long-term interests of both sides, and conforms to the common wish of the two peoples.

Liu Yandong said that the Chinese side is willing to further maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges with the Ethiopian side and strengthen the exchanges and cooperation among various departments between the two countries. Both sides should further make great efforts to run the existing cooperative projects, and meanwhile, strengthen overall planning and expand new areas of cooperation. China will continue to support Chinese enterprises and financial institutions to have active discussions with Ethiopian counterparts on cooperation. Both sides should further promote people-to-people and cultural cooperation, and boost exchanges and cooperation in culture, education, youth, technology, medical and health care and other fields to achieve more results.

Demeke expressed that the constantly expanding areas of cooperation between Ethiopia and China in recent years have promoted not only the development of the bilateral relations, but also Ethiopia's own economic and social development. Ethiopia expects to learn from China's successful experiences and further strengthen the bilateral pragmatic cooperation with China in infrastructure, technology, education, agriculture, culture and other fields. Ethiopia welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in Ethiopia.
