On September 27, 2005, Mr. Maximo V. Soliven, Chairman of the Board and publisher of PhilSTAR Daily, Inc., and Mrs. Soliven hosted a grand farewell dinner in honor of Ambassador Wu Hongbo. Attending the dinner were over 100 distinguished guests including House Speaker Jose De Venecia, Jr., Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Presidential Management Staff Rigoberto D. Tiglao, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Franklin M. Ebdalin, Senator Manuel B. Villar, Jr., Senator Alfredo S. Lim, Senator Manuel A. Roxas Ⅱ,Chief of Staff of the Philippine Armed Forces Generoso Senga, foreign envoys and dignitaries of local business community. Mr. Soliven and Amb. Wu both made touching farewell remarks to highlight the Sino-Philippines friendly ties after the wonderful performance of folk songs and dances arranged by Mrs. Soliven specially for this social function.
