On 24, November 2005, Chinese Ambassador Li Jinjun presented a copy of the credentials to Honorable Alberto Romulo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.

After presenting the credentials, Secretary Romulo and Ambassador Li had amicable discussions on Philippines-China relations. Secretary Romulo warmly welcomed ambassador Li to assume the post as Chinese ambassador to the Philippines and expressed his satisfaction with the rapid development of bilateral relations in recent years. Ambassador Li said that he was delighted to be posted in the Philippines when the two countries are enjoying a new golden age of partnership. Both Secretary Romulo and Ambassador Li also pledged to push bilateral relations to a new height.

Upon his arrival at manila on 20 November, Ambassador Li was warmly welcomed by officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and representatives from Filipino-Chinese Communities.
