June 2, Chinese Ambassador Song Tao met Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila, exchanging opinions regarding issues of common interests. DCM and Political Counselor Deng Xijun was present.

Ambassador Song valued the relentless efforts of Mayor Lim for the Sino-Philippines friendship, specifically the sister city exchange between Manila and Beijing. Mayor Lim cited the long history of exchange between Chinese and Filipinos, asserted that the bilateral friendship has solid basis and will achieve further improvement and development.

Ambassador also briefed Mayor Lim about the preparation of Beijing Olympic Games. Mayor Lim expressed his readiness to attend the opening ceremony of Olympic Games and his confidence in a successful Beijing Olympic Games.
