On 12 January 2008, the agreement for cooperation between China Satellite Launch and TT&C General (CLTC) and Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) on “Establishment and Hosting of the CLTC Ground Segment at Esrange Space Center” was signed by Mr. Zhang Jianqi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of China Manned Space Engineering Program from CLTC and Mr. Olof Rydh, Chairman of the board of SSC. According to the agreement, a new satellite ground station is to be set up and run by SSC for the data service to CLTC. Mr. Lu Fengding, Chinese ambassador to Sweden was present at the signing ceremony.
