From 13 to 14 May, 2008, Embassy of the PRC in the UK participated in the annual Spring Charity Sale held by International Social Service (ISS UK) in Kingston Town Hall in London upon invitation.

The ISSUK is a charity organization whose members are mainly women in Britain. Spring Charity Sale is an important annual activity of the organization. This year marks its 49th Spring Sale. Women from over 100 diplomatic and consular missions in Britain participated in the activity.

The Charity Sale of the Chinese Embassy underlined the theme of Beijing Olympic games and combined Chinese traditional handicrafts with its delicious food, which attracted a lot of envoys and local people. Female staff of the Embassy promoted traditional Chinese culture by wearing national costumes and introduced the current situation in China. Their grace and hospitality won sincere appreciation in the Sale.

Besides donations, most income from the Sale will go to earthquake-hit Sichuan Province.
