Consul General Pan Xinchun meets Chief Executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce
2016/10/26

On October 25, Chinese Consul General Pan Xinchun met Ms. Liz Cameron OBE, Chief Executive and Director of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) and Mr. David Valentine, Director of Angus Chamber of Commerce at the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh. They had an in-depth exchange of views on economic and trade cooperation between China and Scotland.

Consul General Pan spoke highly of the achievement the SCC has made in promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Scotland, and briefed them on Chinese investment in Scotland as well as development of bilateral economic and trade relations in recent years. Mr. Pan said the relationship between China and Scotland has been developing rapidly with more and more Chinese enterprises begining to seek investment opportunities in Scotland, while Scottish organizations such as Scottish Development International, China-Britain Business Council also work hard to introduce Scotland to the Chinese market. These exchanges and cooperation will boost local employment and contribute to our economic and trade relations. The Chinese side is willing to maintain close contact with the SCC to facilitate business cooperation for the two sides.

Ms. Cameron recalled the pleasant moment with  Chinese communities in celebrating the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in early October. She said that the SCC has already established good relationship with Chinese communities in Scotland, and welcome more Chinese enterprises for investment. They look forward to further strengthening economic ties with China as well as exploring opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
