On November 15, 2005, upon successfully concluding his state visit to Spain, Chinese President Hu Jintao attended a farewell ceremony held by Spanish King Juan Carlos I in the State Guesthouse where the former stayed and bid farewell to King Carlos in a friendly atmosphere.

At the farewell ceremony, Hu said that his current state visit to Spain has scored a great success. Hu and his wife appreciated the Spanish side for their warm reception. Hu added that the First China-Spain Business Summit held on the morning of the same day was a great success.

King Carlos noted that he has never seen such a summit with so many participants and hoped that this will be good sign.

Hu expressed hope that King Carlos and his wife will visit China once again and see more places there.

On the noon of the same day, President Hu left Madrid in his special plane for a visit to the ROK.
