On October 25, 2002, Vice-Premier Qian Qichen, who was accompanying President Jiang Zemin on his visit to the United States, met with US Secretary of State Colin Powell at President Bush's ranch at Crawford, Texas.

The two side exchanged views on major international issues of common concern, and reached important consensus.
