President Jiang Zemin said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. 30 years ago, diplomatic relations were forged when the Social Demoratic Party and the Free Democratic Party were the ruling parties. The Free Democratic Party has contributed to the smooth exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in all fields in the past three decades. We hope that the various circles of China and Germany will work together to bring forward bilateral cooperation.

Westerwelle said the younger generation of his party's leadership will stick to the set policy, take a positive attitude towards cooperation with China and be ready to make their due efforts to promote the all-round growth of bilateral relations.
