On September 25, 2002, Premier Zhu Rongji met with entrepreneurs from the Confederation of Danish Industries.

Zhu said that in the more than 20 years since China's reform and opening up, there has been great development in China-Denmark economic cooperation and trade. Danish enterprises have become Chinese partners in many areas. At present, China has made great progress in infrastructure building and the investment environment has further improved. We welcome active participation from friends of the Danish business community in competition in the Chinese market and expanding trade with and investment in China. China-Denmark economic cooperation and trade will further develop with sincere cooperation between both sides.

Chairman Hans Skov Christensen of the Confederation of Danish Industries praised China?s remarkable achievements in economic growth rate, social development and improving people?s lives, and highly evaluated the close cooperation between Danish and Chinese business communities. He also emphasized that the Danish business community has great expectations of the Chinese market and hoped that Denmark-China mutually beneficial economic cooperation and trade will expand continuously.

At the meeting, Zhu took questions from Danish entrepreneurs on China?s opening up of the financial market, energy and environmental protection policies and China-EU and China-Denmark economic cooperation and trade.

On the same day, Premier Zhu also met with Maersk Mc-kinney Mueller, President of the Board of the Maersk Group.
