On March 14, 2005, Belarussian Foreign Ministry issued a statement supporting the adoption of the Anti-Secession Law by China's National People's Congress (NPC). The statement points out the Republic of Belarus supports the Anti-Secession Law adopted by the 3rd Session of the 10th NPC on March 14, 2005. The Republic of Belarus believes the law conforms to the fundamental interests of the entire community of the Chinese people and is also conducive to the peace and stability of the Taiwan Straits, the Asia Pacific region and even the world at large. The government of the Republic of Belarus strictly observes its commitments to the Taiwan issue enshrined in bilateral agreements on the establishment of diplomatic ties and other bilateral political documents with the People's Republic of China. Belarus supports the Chinese government to exercise its right to safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity.
