On March 16, 2005, the head of the Syrian Foreign Ministry made the following statement concerning the adoption of the Anti-Secession Law by the National People's Congress (NPC) of China. The Arabic Republic of Syria supports the NPC of the People's Republic of China to pass the Anti-Secession Law, which stresses the sovereign and territorial integrity of China, which is committed to stabilizing cross-strait situation and which aims at achieving peaceful reunification of China. Syria supports China's decision and consistent position on this issue.
