On March 17, 2005, Guinean National Assembly Speaker Aboubacar Sompare told the Chinese Ambassador Liu Yukun to Guinea that the National Assembly of Guinea fully understands and supports China's Anti-Secession Law. He said that to curb the secessionist forces through legislation is the legitimate right of a sovereign state. Guinea firmly pursues the one-China principle and supports all the actions taken by China to maintain sovereignty and territorial integrity.
