Uganda Supports the Anti-Secession Law passed by the National People's Congress of China

On March 17, 2005, the government of Uganda issued a statement, supporting the Anti-Secession Law passed by the National People's Congress of China.

The statement notes that the Anti-Secession Law passed by the National People's Congress of China aims to maintain national sovereign and territorial integrity and realize the peaceful reunification and demonstrates the consistent position of the Chinese government to achieve the peaceful reunification and the determination of the Chinese people to safeguard their national sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is believed that the Law will help promote peace, stability and prosperity across the Taiwan Straits, in the Asia-Pacific region and even the world at large. Uganda will continue to follow the one-China policy.
