As of 8:22 am of December 30, 2004, the death toll in the Maldives amounted to 75, with 42 missing. 69 of the dead were Maldivians and 12162 Maldivians were displaced and 8997 relocated. 3 among the dead were foreigners and 3 Maldivian expatriates died in the disaster. Among the deceased, the oldest was 89 years old and the youngest only one month.
