On December 31, Counselor Wu Jun told Director of Chinese Affairs at the Thai Foreign Ministry that the staffs of the Chinese embassy donated altogether 500,000 baht to the areas hit by tsunami in South Thailand to express condolences and friendship to the local people and do their own part to the relief and reconstruction efforts. Director of Chinese Affairs said that the righteous act of the staffs of the Chinese embassy is moving and the Thai Foreign Ministry would like to extend sincere gratitude for that. The act further demonstrates the deep friendship between the people of the two countries, and the Thai Foreign Ministry will forward the money to the people in disaster -hit areas as soon as possible.
