On December 29, Ambassador Sun Guoxiang met with general secretary of the Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry, saying that staffs of the Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka donated US$2,690 to the disaster-hit areas to express sympathy to local people and support for the relief and reconstruction efforts of the Sri Lanka people with tangible acts. The general secretary thanked the heart-warming righteous act of the staffs, saying that this further indicated the traditional friendship between people of the two countries.
