Charge d'affaires ad interim Zheng Qingdian of the Chinese Embassy in India Delivers Relief Fund to Indian Red Cross Society

On December 31, 2004, Charge d'affaires ad interim Zheng Qingdian of the Chinese Embassy in India delivered the emergency relief fund of 2,200,000 rupees (US$ 50,000) to Indian Red Cross Society on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC). Zheng asked Indian Red Cross Society to convey his condolence over the deceased in the tsunami and sympathy to the people in the disaster areas. He expressed confidence that the people in those areas can surely defeat difficulties and rebuild their homes. Secretary General Vimala Ramalingam of Indian Red Cross Society expressed his appreciation to the Chinese people, the Red Cross Society of China, and the Chinese Embassy in India for the assistance and support and indicated that Indian Red Cross Society will deliver the donation to the relief work in a timely manner and make efficient use of it.
