On September 22, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi attended the meeting of foreign ministers of the five developing countries including China, India, Brazil, South Africa and Mexico in New York. The five ministers exchanged views on the current international situation and global issues of common concern, especially issues related to the upcoming G20 summit in Pittsburgh.

It was the fourth group meeting of foreign ministers from the five countries.
