Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi attended the meeting. The participants exchanged views on the situation of Iran's nuclear issue and the following steps to be taken. A joint statement of the foreign ministers of the six countries was issued after the meeting. The joint statement emphasized that the six countries were committed to solving Iran's nuclear issue through dialogue and negotiation, hoping for an early resumption of the talks with Iran.

Addressing the meeting, Yang said it conformed to the common interests of the international community to maintain the international nuclear non-proliferation regime, solve Iran's nuclear issue peacefully through diplomatic negotiation and safeguard peace and stability of the Middle East region.
