Premier Wen Jiabao Concludes His Visit to Czech

On the noon of December 9, 2005, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council left Prague for Lisbon in his special plane for an official visit to Portugal after concluding his two-day formal visit to the Czech Republic. During his visit to Czech, Premier Wen held talks with Czech Prime Minister Jiri Paroubek, met with President Vaclav Klaus and held meetings respectively with Speaker of the Senate Premysl Sobotka and Speaker of the House of Representatives Lubomir Zaoralek. Premier Wen and his Czech counterpart Paroubek also signed the Joint Statement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Czech Republic. Besides, the two Prime Ministers also jointly met with representatives from the Czech business community on the evening of December 8. On the morning of December 9, Premier Wen met with the staff of the Chinese Embassy in Czech and representatives from Chinese-funded institutions, overseas Chinese in Czech and Chinese students studying there and delivered a speech. Czech is the third leg of Premier Wen's current tour to five European and Asian nations and prior to that he had visited France and Slovak.
