On the afternoon of December 10, 2005, after concluding his two-day official visit to Portugal, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council left Lisbon for Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, in his special plane. During the visit to Portugal, Wen met with Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio and Parliament Speaker Jaime Gama and held talks with Prime Minister Jose Socrates. Both sides decided to establish bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to push for all-round and in-depth development of bilateral relations.

During the visit, both sides also signed 10 agreements involving judicial assistance, investment protection, health cooperation and other aspects.
