Li Zhaoxing Meets with Ban Ki-moon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea

On April 6, 2005, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who was attending the 4th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Foreign Ministers Meeting in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, met with Ban Ki-moon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea. In the meeting, Li Zhaoxing and Ban Ki-moon jointly expressed that both sides would make joint efforts to deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the Republic of Korea. Both sides also exchanged ideas on the international and regional issues and hoped that the six-party talks be resumed as soon as possible.

The 4th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Foreign Ministers Meeting opened in Islamabad on April 6, 2005. Presently the ACD is the only official dialogue and cooperation mechanism for the Asia as a whole. Initiated by Thailand, the 1st Asia Cooperation Dialogue meeting was held in Cha-am, Thailand in April 2002.
