Along with the Joyce's fans of the local society and over twenty ambassadors from the diplomatic corp, His Excellency Ambassador Zhang Xinsen was invited by the James Joyce Centre Dublin to this year's Bloomsday celebrations on 16th June 2007.

Ambassador Zhang joined the Joyce enthusiasts in the dramatic readings of Ulysses. "Good morning, Dubliners. I'm so happy to be part of Dublin life. Let's enjoy the good old day of Dublin life together today." By greeting the audience, Ambassador kicked off his reading. His fluent English and dramatic expression drew unanimous applause from the audience. "Well done." "Thank you for coming." Ordinary people came up to the Ambassador after his reading and told him that his performance was the most enjoyable part of the Bloomsday.
