On March 25 Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian gave an interview to The Daily Inqilab on the violence involving beating, smashing, looting and burning in Lhasa. Ambassador Zheng said that the grave violence happened in Tibet was premeditated, organized and instigated by the separatist forces both in and outside China acting in collusion, attempting to jeopardize the peace and stability of Tibet, undermine China's stable and harmonious political situation and tamper with Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The incident has once again exposed the separatist nature of the Dalai clique as well as the hypocrisy and deceitfulness of his claimed "peace" and "non-violence". Ambassador Zheng reiterated Chinese government's position on the Tibet issue, saying that Tibet is an inalienable part of China, Chinese government will unswervingly safeguard state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and any attempt to split the motherland is doomed to failure.
