Dear Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, President of the India Olympic Association Mr. M. L. Kumawat, Special Secretary (IS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Mr. Rakesh Mehta, Chief Secretary of the Government of N.C.T of Delhi Mr. Y.S Dadwal, Commissioner Police of Delhi Government Ladies and Gentlemen, I am very happy to have you all in my Embassy this evening. As the Chinese saying goes, your gracious presence has added glitters to my humble house. I would like to use this occasion to express our sincere thanks to the India Olympic Association, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi Government and Delhi Police Department and other Indian friends who have lent their hands in ensuring the success of New Delhi Torch Relay. I still vividly remember the unforgettable days we have spent together for the Torch Relay. Your hard working, your devotion, your professional performance have left us a deep impression. Above all, I admire your determination to protect the sacred Olympic flame and the noble spirit of Olympic. I admire your firm commitments to our bilateral relations. I admire your firmness in principle and skillfulness in tactics. In short you have done a great job and deserve our salute. Olympic Games belong to the world. The success of the New Delhi Torch Relay has in its way made a worthy contribution to the success of the Beijing Olympic Games. I can assure you that the Chinese Government and people will not let you down. With the support of the people all over the world, we will present a most impressive and successful Games to the world in August in Beijing. The success of the Torch Relay also has a positive impact on our strategic partnership. It will further advance our cooperation in various fields, especially in the fields of sports. We all know that India is going to be the host of Commonwealth Games in 2010. We wish you good luck and we will be ready to offer what we can to make the Commonwealth Games again a resounding success. Tonight, it's a gathering of friends to share happiness. I wish you enjoy your selves. I propose a toast, for the friendship of our two countries, for the health and happiness of all.
