On 7 January, H.E. Mr. Zhang Jun, Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands, attended the New Year reception hosted by H.M. the Queen Beatrix for heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations.

Ambassador Zhang conveyed the greetings from President Hu Jintao to Queen Beatrix and the greetings from Vice-President Xi Jinping to Prince Willem-Alexander. He said that thanks to the joint efforts of both countries, Sino-Dutch relations maintained very sound development momentum and people of both countries also benefited a lot from the constantly developing Sino-Dutch relations. China has every reason to be confident in the future of Sino-Dutch relations and is willing to work, together with the Netherlands, for a new prospect of Sino-Dutch relations in a brand new year.

Queen Beatrix and Prince Willem-Alexander asked Ambassador Zhang to convey their greetings respectively to President Hu Jintao and Vice-President Xi Jinping and other Chinese state leaders. Queen Beatrix congratulated once again for the complete success of Beijing Olympic Games and wished China more significant accomplishment in her road of development. Prince Willem-Alexander spoke highly of China's contribution to the whole world via her rapid development, and the great efforts China has made to combat the global financial crisis. He also expressed his willingness to contribute to the promotion of Sino-Dutch relations.
