H. E. Mr. Song Zhe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the European Communities had a meeting with Louis Michel, Commissioner responsible for Development and Humanitarian Aid.

Ambassador Song congratulated Commissioner's election at the European Parliament and expressed appreciation and thanks for his long-standing efforts to promote the development of relations between China and the EU. He hoped that both sides work together to further promote the development of bilateral relations. Mr. Michel said the EU attaches great importance to developing relations with China. He himself will, as always, continue to make efforts in this regard.

The two sides also had exchange of views on climate change.
