Ambassador Yang Youming Paying Courtesy Call On Senate President and House Speaker

H. E. Mr. Yang Youming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, paid his courtesy call on the Honourable Mr. Danny Montano, President of the Senate and the Honourable Mr. Barendra Sinanan, Speaker of the House of Representatives on Nov. 17, 2009.

 

Ambassador Yang conveyed warm greetings from H.E. Mr. Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China to President Montano and Speaker Sinanon, and invited them to visit China at a time convenient to both sides. Ambassador Yang said that China attaches great importance to the relationship with Trinidad & Tobago. For the past 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Trinidad & Tobago, the two countries have enjoyed the steady development of relations, with friendly co-operation in the fields of trade, investment, culture, education, and science and technology. The Chinese side greatly appreciates that Trinidad & Tobago firmly abides by One China policy. Ambassador Yang congratulated Trinidad & Tobago for its remarkable achievement in political, economic and social developments. He said that China is willing to make joint efforts with Trinidad & Tobago to further develop the friendly and co-operative relations in the future.

Mr. Danny Montano and Mr. Barendra Sinanan expressed their sincere thanks to H.E. Mr. Wu Bangguo for his greetings and asked Ambassador Yang to convey their warm greetings. They agreed with Ambassador Yang that China and Trinidad & Tobago enjoy excellent relations, and reiterated that Trinidad & Tobago will continue to abide by One China policy. They told Ambassador Yang that they are looking forward to visiting China.
