Ambassador Su Ge paid a courtesy call to Mr. Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, Minister of Finance of Iceland.

Mr. Sigfússon expressed Iceland's appreciation of the understanding shown by the Chinese side to Iceland, with regard to the impact of the global financial crisis on the latter. Speaking of the prospects of the economy, Mr. Sigfússon hoped that the Icelandic economy would move out of recession some time next year. Ambassador Su said that the Chinese side complimented the efforts by the Icelandic Government for economic recovery and progress. Both exchanged views on how to enhance bilateral cooperation.
