China offers to provide space for setting up FPCCI office in Chengdu

BEIJING, Feb 3 (APP): China has agreed to provide space for setting up office for Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province.This was stated by Advisor Strategic Linkage of Mizab Group and University of Management and Technology Lahore Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha who was part of the 3-member delegation from Pakistan that participated in Sichuan-South Asia Seminar held from Jan 28-29 which was arranged by the provincial government of Sichuan province with the collaboration and support of CCPIT Sichuan and Pakistan Acting Conusul General in Chengdu Dr. Saif Junejo.

A MoU was signed with Chinese for setting up FPCCI office and facilitating it for holding exhibitions.

In an interview with APP Ranjha said that Pakistani delegation was led by former President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tariq Sayeed who also coined the idea of setting up of SAARC and Islamic Chambers in 1990s and Vice-President of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muhammad Mansha Churra.

During meetings with Chinese side, Ranjha said that it was agreed that for Western China International Fair to be held in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province scheduled from October 11-22, free and subsidized stalls will be provided to all member countries of SAARC including Pakistan.

Terming the Pakistan delegation talks with Chinese side as very productive, Saleem Ranjha said that they held meeting with Provincial Party Secretary General. The delegation also met President CCPIT Li Gang, Vice Director Zou Jiau and others in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere and all of them held Pakistan in high esteem.

It was also agreed at these meetings the possibility of cooperation between Mizab Group and WAFO of China to join hands to help export Pakistani products to Sichuan including Kinoo, Rice, Mango, Leather, etc. while China to export Agriculture machinery, CNG buses to Pakistan.UMT will also be launching Pak China MBA course with the collaboration of 110 years old Sichuan University which is third oldest university in China considered to be one of the best in the country.

The Mizab Group under a plan would also seek help from Chinese side in formulating agriculture development plan in Punjab in which agriculture farms, farmers, NGOs and other concerned persons would also be involved with the objective to enhance per acre yield of agriculture produce of Pakistan, Ranjha noted.

The Pakistani delegation that remained in Sichuan after the 2-day Sichuan'SAARC seminar also visited Dong Fong Electric Corporation and Changhong, a manufacturing base of LCD television sets.

Prominent among those who attended the Sichuan-SAARC seminar including newly elected President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Annisul Huq, Shirin Agha Sakhi of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the Director General of Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Atindra Sen, the President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Mr. Surendra Bir Malakar, President of Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Hamid Ismail, the Managing Director of Bhutan Engineering Power Company Ltd Bap Kinga and others.
