Ambassador Yang Youming and his wife hold Spring Festival Reception

H.E. Ambassador Yang Youming and his wife Mrs. Geng Hailing held the Spring Festival reception at their residence on Feb. 9, 2010. Present at the reception were around 200 guests including the Honourable Mr. Ivor Archie, Chief Justice and Mrs. Archie, the Honourable Mr. Barendra Sinanan, Speaker of the House of Representatives and Mrs. Sinanan, the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Brigadier Edmund Dillon, Chief of Defence Staff, Permanant Secretary Sandra Marchack, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives from the Chinese community and Chinese companies in Trinidad and Tobago.

Ambassador Yang extended to the guests his festive greetings and wishes. He said that despite the impact of the international financial crisis last year, both China and Trinidad and Tobago weathered it well and made remarkable achievement in their social and economic development. The bilateral relations between the two countries continued to have healthy and steady development, with fruitful cooperation in every field and with great potential for the future. China appreciates the long-term firm stand of One China policy by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. He expressed his belief that the relationship based on equality and mutual benefit between the two countries would be further expanded and deepened in the new year.

Throughout the reception, it was permeated with warm and friendly atmosphere. The guests were pleased and felt intimate to celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year at the Ambassador's residence. They wished for China to make greater success and for China and Trinidad and Tobago relationship to gain new progress in the Year of Tiger.
