Ambassador Yang Youming and his wife attending Sun Wai Association Spring Festival Luncheon

H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, and his wife Mrs. Geng Hailing attended the Spring Festival Luncheon in celebration of the Year of Tiger held by Sun Wai Association of Trinidad and Tobago on February 21, 2010. The luncheon was hosted by the President of the Association, Mr. Michael Lee Kim and over 100 guests from the Association and their friends and families were present.

Ambassador Yang, in his remarks, offered his Spring Festival greetings to the local Chinese community. He said in 2009 China celebrated its 60th anniversary with continued social and economic achievements by overcoming the negative impact of the global financial crisis. The year of 2009 also witnessed the deepening of friendly and mutually beneficial bilateral relationship with fruitful result in practical cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago. Ambassador Yang thanked the Chinese community for its unremitting support to the Embassy and expressed his appreciation for their contribution to the promotion of Chinese cultural heritage and the economic and social development of Trinidad and Tobago. He encouraged them to join forces and make further efforts in the development of Trinidad and Tobago and the enhancement of the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Michael Lee Kim, President of Sun Wai Association thanked the Embassy for its continuing support to the Association,  and said that the Association will work harder to serve the Chinese Community and make more contribution in overcoming the present economic difficulties in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as in promoting the friendly relations between the two countries.
