On May 26, Consul General Gao Yanping met with James C. Oberwetter, President of Dallas Regional Chamber and former U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in the office building of the Chinese Consulate General in Houston. Commercial Counsellor Yao Wenliang, Consul Wang Peijun, Consul Sun nvzun of the Consulate General and Sarah Carabias-Rush, Managing Director of International Business for Dallas Regional Chamber were present.

Consul General Gao briefed Ambassador Oberwetter on the Shanghai World Expo and expressed her wishes to a successful visit to China by Dallas Regional Chamber in June. She said, China and the United States has reached a series of consensuses on strengthening cooperation in the areas of trade, financial, energy, environment and climate change, etc. in the Second Round of China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue. New opportunities are at hand for China and the U.S. to further promote exchanges and cooperation. She hopes that Dallas Regional Chamber can seize the opportunities and continue boosting mutual beneficial and win-win exchanges and cooperation between China and the Greater Dallas area.

Ambassador Oberwetter said, Texas is the fastest growing State in terms of economic development, and the Greater Dallas area is the fastest growing area in Texas. The Greater Dallas area is consisted of 12 cities and counties. With high education level of the residents and leading position in high-tech areas such as telecommunication, new energy, bio-technology, financial and military industry, the Greater Dallas area enjoys excellent investment environment. Chinese enterprises are warmly welcomed to establish their businesses in the Greater Dallas area. Ambassador Oberwetter said, Dallas Regional Chamber delegation will visit China in June and hold the "Invest in Dallas" dinner in Shanghai. The guests from the Chinese business circle are welcome to attend.

Consul General Gao and Ambassador Oberwetter also exchanged their views on issues of common interest.
