Consul General Gao Yanping Meets with Brazilian Consul General in Houston

On June 4, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Mr. Antonio Jose Rezende de Castro, Consul General of Brazil in Houston at the office building of the Chinese Consulate General in Houston. Vice Consul Wang Rui of the Consulate General was present.
Consul General Gao congratulated Consul General Castro on his new assignment as the Consul General of Brazil in Hong Kong, China. She hoped Consul General Castro play a positive role in promoting the development of China-Brazil relations. Consul General Gao said, since the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1974 between China and Brazil, the Chinese leaders have visited Brazil for many times. Meanwhile, several Presidents of Brazil and high-ranking Brazilian officials have also visited China. Brazil is the biggest trading partner of China in Latin America and China is the biggest trading partner as well as the biggest exporting market of Brazil. Exchanges and cooperation in the areas of science, technology, culture and education, etc. between China and Brazil are fruitful. Consul General Castro appreciated Consul General Gao's meeting with him and agreed on Consul General Gao's views on China-Brazil relations. Consul General Castro said, Brazil and China have a long history of relations. Exchanges and cooperation between the two countries enjoy a great momentum. He feels deeply honored to assume the post as the Consul General of Brazil in Hong Kong, China. He will actively promote exchanges and cooperation in the economic, cultural and other fields between Brazil and Hong Kong, Brazil and China.
