Consul General Gao Yanping Meets with Mayor Reed of Atlanta

On June 24, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Mayor Kasim Reed of the City of Atlanta in the Atlanta City Hall. Vice Consul Wang Rui of the Chinese Consulate General in Houston and International Affairs Coordinator for the Mayor's Office Kevin Goreham were present.

Consul General Gao said, Atlanta is a famous international metropolis and home to numerous well-known multinational corporations. The exchanges and mutual beneficial cooperation between Atlanta and the Chinese cities are increasingly expanding and deepening. China hopes that the two sides can make joint efforts to further boost exchanges and cooperation in all fields, and bring the tangible benefits for the two peoples.

Mayor Reed said, he attaches great importance to the cooperation with China and is full of confidence about the prospect of China's economic development. He is planning his first visit to China in the fourth quarter of this year. He hopes to rejuvenate Atlanta's economy and create more job opportunities for the people of Atlanta by expanding the personnel and trade exchanges with the Chinese side.

Consul General Gao also exchanged views with Mayor Reed on issues of common interest.
