Consul General Gao Yanping Meets with Chairman and CEO of UPS

On August 30, Consul General Gao Yanping met with Mr. Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO of United Parcel Service, Inc.(UPS). Consul Wang Peijun from the Chinese Consulate General and UPS Vice President Victoria King in charge of Public Affairs, Vice President Jerry Del Gaudio in charge of Corporate Strategy, and Director Shiao Dong Han of Corporate Strategy Group were present.

Consul General Gao said, a health and stable development of China-U.S. relationship has provided great opportunities for the establishment of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two parties. Through continuous business expansion in China, lots of American enterprises have benefited from the development of China-U.S. relations and turned into the driving force of the China-U.S. friendship. Since entering into China in 1988, UPS has successfully set up marketing networks in more than 200 Chinese cities, bringing good service for the Chinese people and in the mean time realizing its development goal. Consul General Gao hopes UPS can exert its advantages to promote the Chinese modern logistics industry and meanwhile make new contributions to the economic and trade cooperation and development of China-U.S. relations.

Chairman Davis welcomed Consul General Gao to visit the headquarter of UPS. He said, China's comprehensive economic and social development and the stable development of China-U.S. relations have created enormous business opportunities for UPS. Through 22 years operation in China, UPS has enjoyed a rapid business growth. Especially against the backdrop of the global economic turndown, the Chinese market has outstood other areas and brought great revenue to the company. UPS has 3 operation centers and more than 5000 employees in China and is planning to further expand its business in China. As a world-renowned international company, UPS is willing to shoulder its social responsibilities and continue its efforts to promote the development of China-U.S. relations.

Consul General Gao also visited the headquarter of UPS and attended the dinner hosted by Vice President Victoria King and Vice President Jerry Del Gaudio.
