On the evening of Thursday December 16,Mr. Joseph Smith, a Maltese professional photographer, gave a talk at China Cultural Centre in Malta on his recent visit to China attending the 3rd Jinan International Photography Biennale.

With a presentation of PowerPoint, the photographer shared his unforgettable experiences in Beijing and Jinan. The audience was fascinated by the breathtaking landscapes and lively scenes captured in Mr. Smith's photos. Many of them expressed admiration at the country's time-honored history and contemporary achievements.

Mr. Smith's visit to China and participation in the Biennale was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of China under the programme of "Creations in China" held every other year. Professional photographers from different countries are recommended by the China Cultural Centre and invited by the Ministry to fulfill their photographic creation dreams.

Among the photos taken by Mr. Smith during his visit to China, the one entitled Bird's Nest won the Gold Awards in the November 2010 Image Competition, a monthly photographic competition held by the SWPP (the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and was released on the Times of Malta.
