Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush and Mrs. Bush Attended Dinner Held by Chinese Consul General Gao Yanping
On March 16, Consul General Gao Yanping invited former U.S. President George H.W. Bush and Mrs. Bush to have a dinner at the residence of Consul General Gao. Deputy Consul General Xie Yunliang and President Bush's son Mr. Neil Bush etc. were present.
Consul General Gao expressed her Chinese Lunar new year wishes to President & Mrs. Bush on behalf of the Chinese people and the staff of the Chinese Consulate General in Houston. She wished them good health and long lives and to be auspicious and fortunate. She hopes them to continue playing an important role in making contributions to China-U.S. relations and the friendship between the two peoples.
President & Mrs. Bush said, it was the first time that they have been to the Chinese Consulate General. They thanked Consul General Gao for her New Year wishes to them. They were not only feeling comfortable and like home, but also enjoying the excellent Chinese cuisine, especially their favorite Beijing Roasted Duck.
Consul General Gao and President & Mrs. Bush, Neil Bush exchanged views on China-U.S. relations, Beijing Olympic Games and other issues of their common interest.
