Sierra Leone Association of Journalists Presents Award to Chinese Embassy

On April 13, 2011, President of Sierra Leone Association of Journalists(SLAJ) Mr. Umaru Fofana, together with other executive members, visited Chinese Ambassador Kuang Weilin, and formally presented an award to the Chinese ambassador for the support that the Chinese embassy has provided to the media over the years.

Mr. Fofana spoke highly of the important contributions China has made to the economic and social development of Sierra Leone over the years, and commended the Chinese Embassy for its long-standing support to the media in the country. Mr Fofana said that SLAJ looks forward to working more closely with the Embassy to further promote understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. 

Ambassador Kuang congratulated Mr. Fofana on his successful re-election, praised SLAJ for its important role in promoting the development of the Sierra Leonean media, and hoped that SLAJ can continue to play a more important role in promoting the understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. Ambassador Kuang assured Mr. Fofana of his continued support to SLAJ.
