H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, called on Mr. Ewart S. Williams, the Central Bank Governor on May 12, 2011 at Eric Williams Plaza in Port of Spain.

The Governor welcomed Ambassador Yang for the visit. He briefed the Ambassador of his views on the economic situation and its outlook in Trinidad and Tobage. He said that China has achieved great economic development while the whole world is in a severe economic recession. The experience is worth learning for others. He especially praised the Chinese government for raising the income level of its people. Ambassador Yang said the Chinese Government values the relationship between the two countries. He wishes the two sides could develop effective exchange and cooperation in the areas of economy and finance.

They also discussed matters for future cooperation.
