On May 19, Chinese Ambassador Kuang Weilin and Sierra Leonean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Mr. J.B. Dauda signed China-Sierra Leone Economic and Technical Agreement. They also exchanged notes on China providing medical equipment, anti-malaria medicine as well as malaria treatment devices. The deputy Director General Mrs. Bassir, other officials from the foreign ministry, and Commercial Couselor from the Embassy Mr. Liu Yulin were present at the ceremony.
Ambassador Kuang Exchanging Agreements with Minister Dauda
Ambassador Kuang said at the ceremony that China has always attached great importance to the friendly bilateral relations between the two countries, and that the signing of this new agreement is bound to enhance the economic and technical cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that China will continue to support Sierra Leone's economic and social development.
Minister Dauda said that the signing of the new agreement is very timely now that Sierra Leone is embarking on economic development. He expressed gratitude for the long-term commitment and support that China has demonstrated to Sierra Leone, and looked forward to working more closely with China to strengthen the bilateral relations.
