3rd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum officially launched

On Aug. 23, 2011, the Ministry of Trade and Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Communications of Trinidad and Tobago jointly held a media launch, officially announced that the 3rd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum will be held in Port of Spain from Sep. 12th to 13th. The Honourable Stephen Cadiz, Minister of Trade and Commerce, the Honourable Surujrantan Rambachan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communications, and H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, attended and spoke at the event. The Ministers highly praised China for its increasingly more important role in international affairs and thanked China for initiating the China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum. They said that theTrinidad and Tobago side is pleased to co-host the 3rd Forum, and will work closely with the Chinese side to ensure its success, so as to further promote the exchanges and cooperation between China and the Caribbean countries. Ambassador Yang said that with the theme of "Cooperation , Development and Win-for-all", the 3rd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum will bring China and the Caribbean countries even closer in the overall relations, especially in the economic and trade relations, and by co-hosting the coming Forum, the cordial relations between China and Trinidad and Tobago will be further expanded and brought up to a higher level. The China–Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum is the highest level of economic and trade dialogue mechanism between China and Caribbean countries. The first Forum was held in Jamaica in 2005 and the second was held in Xiamen, China in 2007.
