Chinese Embassy Hosts a Farewell Party for 2011 Chinese Government Scholarship Awardees

On August 25, the Chinese Embassy hosted a farewell party for Sierra Leonean students who are about to pursue further studies in China under the annual Chinese government scholarship program. Charge d' affaires Wang Lushan, Director of Student Section of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Mr. Pearce, Secretary of the Sino-Sierra Leone Alumni Association Dr. J. J. Momoh as well as reporters from the media were present at the event.

 
  Charge d' affaires Wang Makes a Statement

Charge d' affaires Wang extended his congratulations to the students, hoped that they would make the best of the opportunity to study hard in China and contribute to the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone after they complete their studies. He also emphasized that China will continue to provide support and assistance to Sierra Leone in developing the country's human resources. 

Mr. Pearce spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Sierra Leone and China, expressed gratitude to China for its great contribution to the development of education, science and technology in Sierra Leone, and looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with China in human resource training.  

A student representative thanked the Chinese government for providing the unique opportunity for them to study in China, and expressed the determination to study hard so as to contribute to the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone and Sierra Leone-China friendship in the near future.

 
  Charge d' affaires Wang with All the Scholarship Awardees

This year, 26 Sierra Leonean students won the Chinese Government Scholarship. They will be enrolled in the Chinese universities in early September for bachelor, master or doctoral degrees in various fields such as MBA, civil engineering, clinic medicine, mining, etc.
